About Draftbill
Draftbill is a free invoice generator that runs in your browser. It knows the VAT rates and required invoice fields of 18 countries and exports PDF and Peppol XML.
Diese Seite ist auf Englisch verfasst.
What Draftbill does
Draftbill makes a single invoice quickly and correctly. You choose a country and the form follows: the VAT rates of that country, the label of the tax number, and a checklist of the fields the law asks for, each with its legal basis. You see the finished document next to the form while you type.
The invoice can be saved as a PDF through your browser’s print dialog, or exported as a Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 XML file for the countries where that format is the working standard. The interface is available in English, Swedish and German, and the invoice itself can be written in any of the three regardless of the site language.
Nothing leaves your browser
There are no accounts. Invoices, customers, your company details and your logo are kept in this browser’s local storage and nowhere else. Draftbill has no server that receives invoice data, so there is nothing to breach and nothing to delete on our side. The privacy page lists exactly what is stored.
Where the rules come from
Every VAT rate and every required field is taken from the page of a tax authority or from the text of the law, and the guide for each country links to those sources. Where a rule could not be confirmed from an official page it is left out rather than guessed. The method page describes how rates, checklists and the Peppol export are built and what they do not cover.
How it is paid for
Draftbill is free and has no paid version. It is funded by a small number of clearly labelled ads that load only after you accept cookies. Ads never appear above the invoice tool and never change a document.
Corrections
If a rate or a rule is out of date, tell us which country and which page of the authority shows the change, and write to jonathan.holmlidh@gmail.com. Changes in tax law are the most common reason a guide needs an update, and each country page shows the date its rates were last checked.
